Event Details
With the support of Canada Day Drumming National Committee, Canada Day Drumming Halifax (CDD Halifax) has successfully organized this annual event since 2017 to celebrate Canada’s Birthday with our local immigrant communities. In the past two years during COVID-19 pandemic, Canada Day Drumming event was held online to express thank you to our frontline health care workers. We have also broke the Guinness World Record of simultaneous drumming with 148 Canadian cities and 26 international cities in 13 countries.
In 2022, we are more than excited to announce that we will bring back the in-person celebration! With the support from the City of Halifax Culture & Events Department, we are bringing this in-person multi-cultural drumming celebration to Dartmouth Ferry Terminal Park on July 1st, 2022.
Besides the nationwide simultaneous drumming will be happening at 3pm AST on July 1st, the CDD Halifax committee has lined up multicultural performances, including bands, dancing groups, talented individuals, and more from 12:30PM to 3PM for the public to enjoy Canada Day in Downtown Dartmouth. Detailed program as follows.
We welcome all community members to join us at Dartmouth Ferry Terminal Park to participate in Canada Day Drumming event. There will be drums available at the event day for the public to drum with on a first come first serve basis. We also encourage people bringing their own unique drums to our event!
